It's that time of year - time for football games and tailgate parties. Tailgating has become a national obsession. It is a great way to socialize and meet new friends as you prepare for the big game. Men who never cook at home create and serve a special dish that becomes their signature fare. Women raid their cookbooks and recipe boxes looking for scrumptious dishes to share. The name "tailgate party" is named for the tailgate of a pickup truck, which is the traditional vehicle used for the party. If you or a friend don't own a pickup, don't despair. An SUV or a van will work just as well, since you won't be cooking in the vehicle. You will, however, need to transport grills or stoves, coolers, tables and chairs, so you need a good-sized vehicle.
